Weekend in Huntsville
No visit with the grandparents in Huntsville would be complete until Grandpa got his camera out. Here are some of our favorites.
100th post
With the 100th post in Taylor's blog, we have another big milestone to announce! After coming home this evening. I stood Taylor on the floor while removing her jacket. Once her jacket was off, she took off walking by herself across the living room and into the dining room. A few minutes later she walked out of the bathroom, across the hall, through her room and to the closet door. Then after getting ready for bathtime, she walked back out of her room, back across the hall, in the bathroom, around the corner and to the edge of the bathtub. We officially have a walking baby.

Milestones
As many of you know, she has been walking while holding onto our fingers since just after Thanksgiving (thanks Kerin!). Well! As of a week ago or so, she is now only holding onto ONE hand! Also, at daycare on Monday she walked 3 steps before she realized the teacher didn't wasn't holding onto her. :) :) :) We have also caught her standing on her own for a few seconds at a time. The most recent and impressive one to us was a couple nights ago. Her cousin Lecil gave Taylor some linking beads and she likes us to hook them into a circle so she can wear them around her neck. They were sitting on a coffee table we let her have access to. She picked them up with one hand, then, using both hands and not leaning on the table, she put them over her head... not once, but TWICE!
She's also doing quite well with her fork. The doctor suggested going with the fork first because she'd be able to see results sooner. She sticks something with her fork, holds it up and her eyes get big and she smiles and gets all excited. She tries to do that with the spoon and the big smile is followed with a perplexed look as the oatmeal runs down the spoon. She still prefers using her hands instead of the fork but she will occasionally try (and sometimes succeed) to stick things with her fork. She apparently has her mother's patience and temper. Please note that this is her mother posting this. If she doesn't stick the food as quickly as she would like or if it keeps scooting across the tray, she gets really really mad really really quickly.
I think that's it for now.. I'll post more as it comes.
Fun with Oatmeal
As promised to the grandmas, here are some pictures of Taylor eating breakfast. At each meal, she has her own spoon or fork and I have mine to feed her with. The bowl wasn't quite empty but she was done eating and I let her play with the bowl and spoons. As you can see, it was LOTS of fun and I especially had fun washing the oatmeal off.

Mashed Potatoes & Pig Tails
First pic was taken earlier this month. I'm not sure if you can tell in the picture but she has mashed potatoes all over her face. You may be able to see some on her left eyebrow. She was feeding herself and then decided to rub her eyes. It was loads of fun!
These last two were taken this past Wednesday. I had parted her hair differently after the previous night's bath and it was just all over in her eyes and everywhere so I decided to try pig tails. After taking the pictures, I redid her hair a little neater. Surprisingly enough, they stayed in, with some help, for a good 4 hours! One of her teachers at Mother's Day Out didn't even recognize her. That was my biggest reason for taking the pictures. She was really cute and looked like such a big girl! My baby girly...growing up. *sigh*
So mom, now do you believe she has enough hair for pigtails??

Happy February
Sorry it's been so long. She's still growing and getting smarter by the day. We think she has her first molar. She's been feverish today with runny nose and cranky and chewing on everything. And, I think I caught a glimpse of it as she was falling asleep in my lap. She won't let me feel in her mouth so I had to wait until she was asleep and pull her bottom lip down some. I think I got a peek of it before she fussed, pushed my hand away and drifted back to sleep. :)
We don't think it's going to be much longer before she's walking. She's been grabbing onto our fingers and walking that way since Thanksgiving. Recently, she's been caught standing on her own for a few seconds and, instead of cruising from one spot to another that's a few steps away, she's been taking the direct approach and floundering across.
Oops! Gotta git - she's awake. :) Just wanted to update folks.
