Full-time daycare!

For those who don't know, I finally found a job!! I am the secretary to the senior pastor at Cathedral of the Cross (no, they're not Catholic). It's an Assembly of God and my new coworkers have been wonderful.

That said, it means Taylor is now in full-time daycare at La Petite Academy. I'm having more difficulty adjusting than she is. The first day I dropped her off, she was playing by herself on one side of the room. I opened a door so she could go to the other side and she ran right passed me and didn't even let me kiss her on her head. She is having a little difficulty adjusting - she misses mommy & daddy and the director and teacher do a great job of calming her and reassuring her and she is especially excited to see us when we pick her up.

Some new things for her - eating meals at a small table while sitting in a small chair (she reportedly does great!) and a scheduled naptime of 11:30-1:30 in a cot (also reportedly does great).

One funny - she started this past Tuesday and when I dropped off paperwork last week I learned that we were enrolling her just in time for PICTURE DAY!! Picture day was today and we dressed her in a cute little yellow flowerdy dress (she's wearing in the previous post). Don't worry family, if we like the pictures and buy some, we'll be sending them out.

Getting dressed

She loves putting her hat on and wearing it around the house. Almost as much as she likes wandering around in her new grey dress (which looks suspiciously similar to Daddy's "Sunday Afternoon" shirt).

Childhood has its ups and downs

Taylor is a climber. Watch out. Though we have no photographic evidence to prove it, she has officially climbed up onto the couch, all by herself. Even more importantly, she can get down. Safely. Usually.

Here Taylor tries to climb into Daddy's recliner (haven't figured that one out yet) and onto a toy box (piece of cake!) And the 'Down' part - sitting on her duck because it makes noise.

Balancing act

A few cute bonus pictures of Taylor around the apartment. She learned how to balance her sippy cup on the arm of the recliner. Also, showing off her new Pooh plate, and just being cute.

Easter

A few quick pictures of Taylor in her Easter dress with her new favorite toy.

Louisiana adventure

Road trip! We packed up the van and drove to Louisiana for cousin Amanda and Travis' wedding.

Grandma slows Taylor down long enough for a quick hug. Taylor is eyeing the stairs leading back into the house. Stair climbing in a dress is not an easy task.

Taylor's cousin Amy in her pretty Easter dress.

Wedding party - Amanda and Travis, and sister-of-the-bride Paige.

Taylor's cousin Abby showing off her dress by the pool.

Brian's cousin Amy with hubby Peter.

Mother of the bride Judy.

Taylor steals her cousin Amy's hat.

Taylor and cousin Ariel check each other out.

Too much partying and dancing! Time for a rest.

More of the new bride and groom.

Our little bed hog.

Taylor loved exploring the hotel we were staying in ...

... and riding the elevator up and down.

We drove into New Orleans for a day, and visited the aquarium. These were some of her favorites.

Paige and her husband (and Taylor's new favorite guy to flirt with!) Theron.

Uh oh. Little girl's too tall to sleep sideways in the playpen now.

Grandpa tries to feed Taylor to a gator.

One last chance to play with Paige and Theron before everyone leaves.
