First, Taylor’s not spoiled in the least little bit. Nope. Not at all!
Okay, maybe a little. After hearing, “Where’s Angel Cake?” on Thursday night, what did I do? I got back on ebay and went looking for her. And I found her! This is actually pretty amazing considering I wanted to make sure she was the same size and all as the rest of the dolls. She is and she’s in excellent condition. Actually I think that’ll be where she doesn’t fit in. The other dolls are in really good condition, but you can tell they’ve been played with. Angel Cake still has tags on her. And this part Brian doesn’t know yet (yep, the couch is comfy): the downside was that she came with Ginger Snap and another Strawberry Shortcake. The upside to that is that my plan is to keep Angel Cake and put the other 2 back up for bid. All in all, though, I’ve been happy with my ebay experience. I’ve spent considerably less on this dollhouse and dolls than I would’ve had I bought it in the store when it was available. Now if Taylor had wanted the vintage Strawberry Shortcake… she’d be out of luck. 🙂
Conversations from yesterday:
First, while playing in Grandma & Grandpa’s backyard, she decided to help pick up pinestraw. Grandma & I were inside… she knocked on the screen door, I opened it, she said, “Here. This is God’s paper. Don’t break it.” and handed me a piece of pinestraw. She came back later and gave one to Grandma. She said some other stuff in there, explaining it, but what I quoted is what I got out of it. You try to translate 3 yr old speak!ÂÂ
Taylor also found part of a grommet while playing in the backyard. I was outside playing with her at one point and she said, “This is my ring. God gave it to me.” Sensing a possible teaching moment, I asked her what else God gave her and she listed off some things (I wish I could remember them!) “…and my house. And that’s all I got!” I said, “What about mommy & daddy?” “Um.. yeah.” Then I asked, “Do you what God gave mommy & daddy?” Her: Um, I don’t know. Me: God gave us you. Her response was a giggle and smile and then she was off again, teaching moment gone. 🙂
