Elizabeth is home from her weekend away, much to everyone’s delight.
The other news is not so good. I thought I felt a new wound on Skipper’s side last night, and checking her this morning confirmed it: we think she’s getting worse. The spot on her belly is looking pretty bad, and new patches of — whatever it is, raw skin, wound, oozing, however you want to describe it — are developing. She’s going back to the vet first thing in the morning.
She is eating and drinking well, and all her output is pretty normal. She started eating some grass this afternoon — never a good sign for a dog. While she is showing more interest in walking and moving around, she also seems to be in more pain when doing so.
We’re hoping beyond hope that this is just the “gets worse before it gets better,” but we’re fearful. We’ll post an update tomorrow when we get word from the vet.
