These two pictures were actually taken in August using the camera on my phone (didn’t have time to grab the digital! Its batteries were dead anyway!). These were taken on a Friday following Taylor being home from school for 4 days straight because of a fever. It was a little scary – ranged from 101 to 105 but mostly lingered around 101. She was still active and playing, though. Except when it was 105, of course. What’d she have? Your guess is as good as mine! Yes we went to the doctor… multiple times. Monday bloodwork and ruled out strep and infection. Must be a virus. Tues: hit 105 and went to after hours clinic… nothing new from Monday’s doc visit. Must be virus. Wed: something in her blood still elevated, chest x-ray, doc scratches head and says, “It looks like bronchitis!” Why is this odd? Because she wasn’t coughing. At all. Thursday: trip to Children’s for more detailed bloodwork. Fever was miraculously gone Thursday a.m. and bloodwork came back normal. Alrighty then.
So, enter Friday morning. You haven’t had to get up early for 6 days (included weekend this time). Your mother comes in and says, “It’s time to get up!” What do you do? What. Do. You. Do? Well, here’s what Taylor did:
This is with the lights off. She scooted up her bed, put her head under her pillow and held up her hand as you see here. Well, knowing that the picture would be dark and that her head was under the nice dark pillow, I turned the lights on and got this:
Then I was nice and turned the lights back off before pulling out the heavy artillery on waking up my darling daughter. Tickling. Mercilessly. It’s fun. Try it some time when you’re having trouble waking your child!
